On April 11-14, 2018, Prof. James Mcmillan, Chief Engineer of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, visited the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology. Prof. McMillan focused on the research of cellulose biorefinery and seaweed biorefinery and the promotion of industrial applications. At present, he has 25 years of practical experience in this fields. During the visit, Prof. McMillan gave a report entitled "Progress on Advanced Biofuels Development in the USA".

During this visit, Prof. James McMillan visited the Analytical and Testing Center of SCET, the Biochemical Laboratory and other research direction laboratories. He also talked with our teachers about how to conduct research on the field of bioenergy, the linkage mechanism of exchange visits between R&D and NREL researchers, and the establishment of joint laboratories.
